Recycled Polyester



From plastic waste to garment. Recycled polyester is a synthetic material made from waste items like plastic bottles or leftover textile waste from manufacturing. Recycling polyester saves natural resources and reduces the amount of waste. 

Process: 

Used plastic bottles are collected at a recycling facility and shredded down to PET flakes.

After the flakes are melted, they are spun into new polyester fibres. 

​

The flakes are then extruded through spinnerets to create yarn for knitting or weaving into textiles.
